Successful appointment to deliver Community Nursing Services to DVA recipients
KLR Communications worked in conjunction with our partner, SoCom Consulting, to advise our client, Holicare, on its successful application to deliver vital Community Nursing Services to those receiving funding under Department of Veterans Affairs (DVA). KLR Communications’ grant and aged care application expertise combined with SoCom’s aged care and nursing care policies and procedures to secure this opportunity for service expansion.

Successful architecture bid for major international sports park
As the primary external consultants to global architecture firm, Populous, we provided strategic advice against project criteria, and guided and coordinated multiple contributors across two countries, to bring together a technical response that formed part of the successfully appointed consortium bid for the design and development of the Kai Tak Sports Park, Kowloon, Hong Kong, valued at HK$30 billion.

Redesign and turnaround of client digital marketing strategy
We advised Pearl Home Care on the development of an integrated marketing strategy to improve lead generation outcomes, while more effectively managing advertising costs. Following inspection of a previously low performing program, KLR Communications’ digital team developed a wraparound digital advertising strategy, which included:
- tailoring web content and landing pages to maximise marketing program outcomes
- thorough review of keywords and identification of costly, negative keywords
- improved demographic and location targeting
- increased relevance of Google Ad extensions
- development of pathways for potential customers to access information on the specific service they were looking for
- lead generation, remarketing and conversion of warm leads to real customer enquiries

$7 million successfully secured to deliver Disability Employment Services across Queensland and Northern New South Wales
As primary strategic consultants, we worked in-house at two Open Minds offices across a number of weeks to extract vital performance metrics and program outlines in order to develop the strategy and then manage the drafting of Open Minds Australia’s successful application to deliver Disability Employment Services (including consideration of mental health and family and domestic violence referral pathways).

We advised Open Minds on the strategic development and drafting of its proposal to deliver the ParentsNext program in Logan, Toowoomba, and Townsville from 2018-2021.

Strategic process review, redraft and market testing of Department of Housing customer communications
KLR Communications acted as sole sub-contractor over the course of 2 years, providing strategic advice on the Department of Housing’s consumer engagement strategy, including mapping of critical pathways, audit and redraft of more than 300 pieces of correspondence using Behavioural Insights principles.
Communications were measured for effectiveness through observational and interview-based techniques and engagement with a range of key stakeholders, including Housing Service Centre personnel and business unit representatives from locations throughout South East Queensland, and observing and transcribing client interactions.
The project aimed to review products and services to modernise and reflect the Queensland Housing Strategy 2017-2027 and provide a more person-centred approach, benchmarked against key indicators such as readability, understandability, ease of key message identification, and cultural appropriateness.
Queensland Biosecurity – Strategy Paper: 2018 – 2023 Content and Design
In consultation with Biosecurity Queensland, their stakeholders and the agriculture industry, we developed, edited and designed a new Biosecurity Strategy and Action Plan for Queensland. The strategy analyses risk and sets the strategic goals and direction for biosecurity in Queensland from 2018 – 2023.

Teaching Queensland’s Future Strategic Plan: 2018 – 2020
We advised the Department of Education on the drafting and development of the Teaching Queensland’s Future Strategic Plan 2018 – 2020 and associated internal and external communications to accompany the Minister’s program launch.
Strategic advisor on successful bid to deliver On-Country programs to at risk-youth in Townsville
As the primary external consultants for Gr8motive Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Corporation, we worked with the board to develop a project strategy and proposal to deliver On Country Programs to offending and at-risk indigenous youth in Townsville, including associated policies, delivery specifications and communications plans.
The program, which aims to deliver a cultural support program aimed at improving the lives of young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders who are at risk and require support to move out of the justice system, is valued at more than $1.5 million over 3 years.

Small Business Digital Grants secured across a number of clients
With the release of the Queensland Government’s Small Business Digital Grant opportunity, in support of businesses affected by COVID-19, we successfully secured grants of up to $10,000 for a number of clients.
Funds could be used to improve digital capabilities, identify ways to work smarter and to take advantage of online business opportunities.

$9 million of funding awarded for delivery of Commonwealth Home Supports Programme
KLR Communications’ aged care team secured approximately $3 million of annual funding to deliver home care packages under the Commonwealth Home Supports Programme (CHSP). We worked with clients in Perth, Sydney, Toowoomba and Melbourne in their successful applications to deliver aged care supports in high demand regions across the country. Funding was recurring for 3 years, equating to a total funding amount of almost $9 million. The CHSP assists senior Australians access entry-level support services to enable them to live independently and safely in their own home for as long as possible.
Successful Management and Business Professionals Government Panel Appointment
We advised Thought Bubble on its successful appointment to the Management and Business Professionals panel list of approved providers to the Department of Housing and Public Works. The appointment was for an initial term of 2 years, with the potential for extension by an additional 2 x 2 years.
Informative news release and print ad for Outstanding Young Employee Award
Following the awarding of an ITEC Youth team member as Outstanding Young Employee in the Lake Macquarie Business Excellence Awards, we advised on the drafting of an informative piece (published in online and print news) and an associated print ad congratulating the winner.
Development of organisational policies and employee manuals
We advised Pearl Home Care on the development of the full suite of organisational policies, employee handbooks and client information handbooks. All policies and procedures were drafted in plain English, supported by the full suite of registers, checklists, forms and templates, and were subject to audit and compliance with relevant legislation.
